What’s not to love about this newly constructed home on the hill of Buderim, Sunshine Coast, with ocean views? With dark colours, cool tones, and high-quality finishes, this modern home needed property styling to match its calibre and portray a lifestyle that complements its offerings. For this property, especially in the main living and dining area, the interior design styling was kept minimal to let the views take centre stage and allow the home’s beauty to shine.
Selecting designer furniture
For this property, we ventured beyond the traditional coastal Sunshine Coast style. The modern finishes and vibrant atmosphere allowed us to choose designer furniture that was both contemporary and eye-catching. For instance, we opted for a blue upholstered sofa in the main living area to reflect the property’s views and introduce a modern art deco flair that contrasts beautifully with the many black finishes. Our selection also included deep blue velvet ottomans, sleek black-legged dining chairs, and coffee tables, with occasional touches of timber to subtly incorporate a coastal feel into the home.
Staging key rooms
A standout feature of this property is the open-plan living area, which encompasses the kitchen, dining, and living spaces. The home’s interior design takes full advantage of its elevation and 180-degree ocean views, influencing our styling choices and furniture package significantly. We ensured the sofa created a distinct living room zone without detracting from the views. Low-back dining chairs were chosen to maintain a discrete, low-profile look, allowing unobstructed views of the ocean. The final result in the open-plan living area is fantastic, with rugs creating defined zones and softening the tiles while preserving an open, spacious feel.
